What an Awe-inspring Replica!

It really does feel rather incredible to be able to own an almost identical replica of the Megalosaurus bucklandii jaw. The detail is intricate, even the weathering of the fossil has been recreated precisely! Especially when compared to the actual fossil, which I had the pleasure of seeing in person last year for my 27th Birthday, on a visit to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

When I opened my package, I actually believed, just for one moment, that I was holding the actual specimen! I am so grateful to be able to own this wonderful replica of one of the most important fossil discoveries of all time, and to add it to my growing collection of paleontological replicas. How fascinating that this Megalosaurus fossil was discovered before the coining of the word ‘dinosaur’ by Richard Owen in 1842!

I must also acknowledge that the jaw was very well packaged, and I am very grateful for the display stand included too! Thank you so much Prehistoric Store, I already have my eye on some of your other wonderful replicas!

Couldn't Be Better!

To anyone who has an interest in palaeontology, the William Buckland Megalosaurus jaw fragment is instantly recognisable. After seeing the original fossil myself at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, this replica 100% does the original justice! For all the work and effort put into this piece, it is incredible value for money, even for a young collector like myself. As a gift for a palaeontology fanatic, its absolutely perfect!
